Seewolf went to SPOT Festival (Aarhus, Denmark)

SPOT is an internationally recognized festival in Aarhus that showcases new Danish and Nordic music. Through our exchange with SPOT Festival, we presented the Frisian band Seewolf.

Seewolf travelled to Denmark with their cinematic indie rock, deeply rooted in the Frisian landscape. Inspired by bands like Motorpsycho, The Veils and The Doors, the band brought songs from their debut album A Bounce Of Grace to SPOT Festival, where they played to a packed venue and an enthusiastic audience.

“We put on a fucking great show. The room was full, and the audience was absolutely ecstatic.”

Alongside the performance, the festival offered the band a first real introduction to the Nordic music industry. Over the weekend they met delegates, labels, bookers and other musicians, while learning how showcase festivals work behind the scenes and how important visibility and follow-up are in building an international network.

“We sent out a lot of targeted emails before and during the festival, just trying to connect with delegates and industry people. There wasn’t a lot of direct feedback, but it’s more about visibility. People now know we were there and what we sound like.”

One of the most valuable outcomes of the trip was their connection with Danish musician Rasmus. What started as a meeting during the festival quickly grew into conversations about music, recording, the Danish scene and future opportunities. Together they recorded acoustic sessions, exchanged ideas and discussed possible shows and touring plans in Denmark.

“We had a great connection with Rasmus. We talked about music and what the scene in Denmark is like. We also recorded some acoustic versions together. It was just a really good vibe, and by the end of it we felt like we'd built a connection that could lead to something exciting in the future.”

The band also returned home with a large amount of new photo and video material, which immediately resonated online and helped extend the story of the trip far beyond the festival itself.

“It’s a short performance, but strong visuals make all the difference. Good photos and videos turn it into something that keeps living after the show.”

For Seewolf, SPOT Festival became more than just a showcase performance. It marked an important step in expanding their world beyond the Netherlands and strengthening their connection with the Nordic music scene.
