HAITZE & CASHMYRA went to Aarhus

"I am a singer that sings both in Dutch and Frisian. That’s why I was really eager to join the trip to Denmark and showcase my Frisian roots there. Friesland and Denmark share a long history, both geologically and linguistically. What struck me was how open the Danes are to more than just ‘the familiar.’ They welcomed my music with open arms and, even without understanding the language, were able to connect with it. The project has opened doors for me; it showed me that, regardless of language, you don’t have to be limited to the country where that language is spoken. Music is more than just being understood—it’s about feeling." - HAITZE 'It was incredibly inspiring to look at my career and ambitions with a fresh perspective again. On your own, you sometimes end up going in circles in your head, and you have to be careful not to slip into thinking in terms of impossibilities. This weekend in Aarhus, the conversations with fellow musicians and professionals helped me regain fresh motivation. In just two days, together with the band, I was able to create a step-by-step plan—of which the first steps have already been taken—and that gives me an enormous boost of energy. Nothing but positive vibes. - CASHMYRA

From the 4th till the 7th of September, NOORD alumni artists Haitze and Cashmyra joined DSCVR, a collaboration between Go!, Spot Festival, Robert Associety and Tapetown in Aarhus.
In a bootcamp program full of insights, they were joined by Danish artist Anaiis and explored the Danish music industry with guidance from local experts. The bootcamp wrapped up with a showcase during the 60th edition of Aarhus Festuge.
